IT seems last week’s photograph foxed most of you.

We realised it would be a challenge but knew you would be up to the test.

What we did not realise is that the picture would prove so difficult to recognise.

As it was a semi-rural scene its location was confusing for many of you.

Some said it looked like Edgworth or Egerton and others thought the spot was in the Jumbles or various other more rural locations.

It was in fact, an area of derelict land in Bridge Street, Horwich.

The picture was taken in March 1975 when the Parks and Recreation committee wanted to transform the land into a “pleasant and informal open space”, according to the caption on the back of the photograph but if any reader feels this is not correct we would love to hear from you as we just cannot place the spot.

So what about this week’s picture?
