HOW lovely it is to see a group of school children on a welcome break from their desks back in June 1953.
The youngsters were on the footbridge at Barrow Bridge on a ramble from St Matthew’s Junior School.
It looks as if the children are having a really good day out with their school teacher at what was once a very popular beauty spot.
