Crikey.
We’ve come a long way from Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, as 2012’s Battleship iteration turns an often pedestrian two-player boardgame into an over-the-top epic action adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as Earth fights for survival against a superior alien force.
In truth, the film is as throwaway as most big-budget releases in the genre, and the video game tie-in does try hard to buck the ‘bad film equals bad game’ trend.
The fast-paced first-person shooter style is complemented by elements of wider tactical battle command, which gives you greater control of the bigger naval unit picture and switches up the gameplay pace well.
