IT'S time to go back to school with the latest production by the town's talented young thespians.

CATS Youth Theatre are bringing Grease to the stage during the hit musical's 40th anniversary.

The musical featuring popular songs including You’re The One That I Want, Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Sandy, and Greased Lightnin’, follows the romance of Danny and Sandy during their time at Rydell High School.

Paul Cohen said: "CATS are excited to be presenting this show. This being the 40th anniversary of Grease, Louise Cohen, director and Em Cohen, choreographer though this would be the ideal production for their cast.

"Packed full of familiar tunes, rehearsals are well underway and technically, the show is almost ready on what promises to be an energetic presentation of this familiar show."

He added: "CATS technical team, Alan Dodd and Simon White built the bus for Summer Holiday and swept the boards with an array of awards.

"The greased lightening car is just coming off the production line as once again Alan and Simon, assisted by Drew Hogben and Andrew Cox, build the car with the same enthusiasm they had for the bus —lets hope it takes Sandy and Danny to their required destination."

Paul said: "A cast of 41 young people ensure this classic is true to its reputation and are having great fun putting this show together."

The show runs from Wednesday, May 9 to Saturday, May 12, 7.30pm at St Catherine's Academy.
