AN appeal has been launched to find the family of a pensioner whose body was discovered three weeks after he died at a sheltered housing complex in Bolton. Police are appealing for help in tracing the next of kin of Graham Morrisson. The 67-year-old was found dead in his bathroom at St George’s Court, in Bolton, on Friday, March 16. Police have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

It is believed Mr Morrisson had relatives living in the Scarborough area.

The alarm was raised by one of Mr Morrison’s neighbours when they saw a pair of trousers lying in the same place on his bed every day. The complex, off Topp Way, is monitored by a housing officer, but residents have an option to receive daily calls and weekly checks, which Mr Morrison had opted out of. This meant he was only checked on once every four weeks.

Bolton at Home, which runs the complex, defended the system, saying it was important for residents to have their independence. An inquest into Mr Morrison’s death has been opened and adjourned and the hearing is expected to be held later this year. Anyone with information or his next of kin should contact the coroner’s office on 0161 856 5746
