ADAM Turner is on track to achieve his ambition of becoming a motor sports engineer after being named Bolton College’s Student of the year.

The 18-year-old received the award for his excellent work in the Motor Vehicle Department, Adam completed a Level 2 NVQ diploma in performing engineering operations, a Level 2 diploma in welding and fabrication engineering technology and an IMI in motor vehicle studies.

His detailed course portfolio gained him an outstanding 85 per cent for his efforts.

Adam said: “I can’t believe I have won the Student of the Year award. I loved completing the course, so I am over the moon that my hard efforts have paid off.

“I’m now hoping to go on to achieve my dream of becoming a motorsports engine specialist.”

Adam passed his course with flying colours, but it was his ambition and enthusiasm that made him the frontrunner for the award.

David Carr, lecturer at the Bolton College Motor Vehicle Department, said: “Adam has been a valued member of the student body and has shown commitment and a hard-working ethic that is second-to-none.

“Adam has always been a highly motivated and enthusiastic member of the team and is certainly a worthy winner of this award.”
