A DRINK-driver has been banned from getting behind the wheel.
Simon Thornton, aged 21, of Linden Avenue, Little Lever, admitted taking a Renault Clio without the permission of the owner, failing to stop when requested by a police officer, driving without insurance and driving without due care and attention.
The offences took place on December 7, in Chorley Old Road, Horwich.
He was found to have 61 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath —the legal limit is 35mg.
He was ordered to pay £50 compensation to the owner of the car, who is from Little Hulton, as well as £85 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
