A MOTORIST who failed to stop after damaging a garden wall in Woodfield Street, Bolton, on Boxing Day has been sentenced to do 200 hours unpaid work by Bolton magistrates.
Darren Sharpe, aged 42, of Woodfield Street, was driving a Lexus car when he hit the wall, failed to stop or report the accident and then, the following day, obstructed a police officer.
Sharpe pleaded guilty to the offences and to driving without due care and attention and criminal damage.
He was also ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £60 victim surcharge and eight penalty points were added to his licence.
