BOLTON Under-14s had mixed fortunes in the Greater Manchester Schools’ League over Easter.
The local youngsters lost 3-0 to Manchester at the start of the week before bouncing back with a 6-3 victory over Preston.
Bolton raced into a 5-0 half-time lead with a first-half hat-trick from Jordan Prescott (Rivington) and one each from Lewis Haydock (Rivington) and Alex Coulston (Canon Slade).
Preston grabbed two goals after the restart but Bolton hit back with a sixth from Ben Hoddard (St James) before the home side added a third in the dying minutes.
Bolton U15s comfortably beat Preston 6-3 in a Greater Manchester Schools’ League and County Cup first round double header.
Preston took an early lead but Bolton hit back through Jake Galea (St Joseph’s) before a double strike from Ryan Farnworth (Turton) gave them a 3-1 half-time lead.
Preston hit back after the restart with two quick goals to level the score at 3-3 before Bolton ran out winners with goals from George Miller (St James), Alex Killeen (St Joseph’s) and a late Miller penalty.
