A MUM-of-two is about to celebrate her son's second birthday — something she has in common with more than 200 friends after setting up a social network group for mothers.

When Paula Blakemore found out she was pregnant with her second child in January 2011 she already had a seven-year-old daughter, Madison — and because of the age gap she felt like a first time mum.

So Mrs Blakemore decided to set up a group for pregnant women who had September 2011 due dates on social networking website, Facebook — and September Treats was born.

The group has about 200 members from all over the UK and after marking September Treats' second birthday in January, the majority of the mums are gearing up to celebrate their children's second birthdays over the summer.

A joint party at Urmston Masonic Hall was the perfect opportunity to get together and meet each other face to face.

Mrs Blakemore, of Atherton, said: "We all know each other really well having chatted on Facebook for two years but many of us have never even met.

"The group has been a huge support for everyone and there is always someone on hand to offer advice whether it's on breast feeding, potty training, walking or talking.

"No one ever judges and for such a diverse group of women there has never been a cross word."

Her son Jaxon arrived a little earlier than his September due date and was born in August, 2011, so the family are getting ready to celebrate the toddler's second birthday.

Five members of the September Treats Facebook group had babies who were stillborn but Mrs Blakemore said they all found comfort in the group and were supported by their online friends.

Now, one of the five mums has just given birth to a baby girl while the other four are all expecting to welcome a bundle of joy sometime this year.
