A 21-YEAR-OLD man was knocked unconscious after he was hit by a taxi, police said.
The man was reportedly hit by a black Vauxhall Vectra in Bradshawgate near Nelson Square at about 5.25pm this afternoon.
He was said to be unconscious after the crash, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Bradshawgate was closed between Great Moor Street and Churchgate while police investigated, but the road was re-opened at 6.30pm.
Paramedics took the man to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
No arrests are thought to have been made.
One man working nearby said: “I heard a man was crossing the road between two cars and got hit by a car.
“They blocked the road and there were police cars everywhere.
“He was taken to hospital but I don’t know how seriously he was injured.”
Witnesses can call police on 101.
