A SOLDIER who saved up £10,000 for a BMW while he was serving in Afghanistan has had his dream car “keyed” for a second time.

Vandals targeted eight cars parked in an Over Hulton street on Saturday night.

It is the second time the street has been hit by car vandals in a matter of months.

Lance Corporal Lee Hill, aged 28, who has recently completed his third tour in Afghanistan, said repairs would cost him hundreds of pounds.

LCpl Hill, a fitness instructor in the Royal Engineers, came back to Bolton at the end of March and used money he had saved to buy his silver BMW 5 series.

The car was scratched by vandals only weeks after he bought it.

He had the damage repaired, which cost £250, and now it has been vandalised again.

LCpl Hill said: “The damage is worse than last time, so now I will have to pay for it to be repaired again.

“I work hard for nice things, and then someone just does that.

“I saved up the money while I was in Afghanistan so I could buy it as I have always wanted one.”

Kelly Coleman, who drives a Honda Civic, also had her car damaged.

She said: “This is so annoying and it has happened twice now. We are putting up CCTV outside the house which will hopefully be a deterrent.

“I didn’t get it repaired the first time as I could not afford to, I work two jobs and don’t need to spend extra money on something like this.

”I can’t claim on the insurance as the excess is £600 and it will put the premium up.”

Police are investigating the incidents.
