CHRIS Eagles looks likely to miss out on tomorrow’s home clash with Reading.
Wanderers’ mercurial winger has been wearing a protective boot because of a twisted ankle and will undergo a fitness test today to see if he has any chance of facing the Royals.
Dougie Freedman admits it looks unlikely that the former Manchester United man will be passed to play.
“They tell me he’ll be tested to see whether he can run, and if he can, he stands a chance.,” he said.
“But if you’re asking me, if I was a betting man he won’t be fit for the game.”
The manager noted that both Andre Moritz and David Ngog are looking stronger after their midweek outing at Shrewsbury Town; both are expected to feature in the squad. The likes of Chung-Yong Lee, David Wheater, Adam Bogdan and Alex Baptiste are also expected to return.
But two heroes from the Greenhous Meadow, Sanmi Odelusi and Rob Hall, are very much in the manager’s thoughts and Freedman reckons their hunger to be involved could add something that was lacking in his squad last term.
“I have said these are the guys who were missing last season – it wasn’t a balanced squad,” he said.
“Just with Chungy and Chris, who was getting tired, I just couldn’t balance it up.”
