FORMER Reebok loanee Danny Guthrie has backed Wanderers to make a real push for promotion this season.
The Liverpudlian midfielder will be anchoring Reading’s midfield tomorrow but has fond memories of his season at Bolton.
Guthrie made 35 appearances for the Whites in a difficult 2007-08 campaign, also featuring in the Europa League.
But while things on the pitch never went smoothly under Sammy Lee, and the grind to avoid relegation was a difficult one under his successor Gary Megson, Guthrie still enjoyed his time on loan from Liverpool. “I had a great time when I was there,” he said. “It’s a great club and I’m looking forward to going back there.
“I still follow all the teams I played for. It looks like Bolton are going to have a real push this season.”
