A BOLTON farm will host festival-goers as they camp in style this September.

Organisers of The Ramsbottom Festival have announced a campsite will be located at Park Fold Farm, Jumbles Lane, Bradshaw, with space for people to bring tents, as well as handmade tipis for hire.

It is the first time they have arranged an official festival campsite which offers glamorous camping, known as glamping, suitable for couples, families and groups of friends.

The festival, which takes place at Ramsbottom Cricket Club from September 13 to 15, is easy to reach, from the farm, via public transport and a festival bus will return to the campsite at the end of each day.

Black Dog Tipis provide the conical tents, based on native American tradition, which are warm and snug on colder nights and cool on hot summer afternoons, complete with inner liner, full weather protection, groundsheet and matting.

Victoria Robinson, deputy director of The Met, Bury, which organises the event, said: “We're keen to provide the full festival experience for our visitors and delighted to be working with Park Fold Farm and Black Dog Tipis to offer music fans a range of accommodation, including camping, standard and luxury tipis, as well as the many B&B and hotels around Bury."

On the Friday, taking the best of post-punk, new wave, and pop as inspiration, Sunderland's The Futureheads, will headline the festival.
Gobby indie group Twisted Wheel, who rocked a packed crowd as support for Oasis' mammoth Heaton Park gig in 2009, will also appear, as well as five-piece indie rockers Shy Nature and singer-songwriter Danny Mahon.T

he following night, Brit Award nominee Richard Hawley, who first found fame as a member of Britpop band Longpigs in the 1990s, will take to the stage, following Swedish based outfit Junip, who were formed in the late '90s by singer/songwriter José González and seven-piece hip-hop band Lazy Habits.

Bringing the festival to a close on Sunday will be headliner Sinéad O’Connor, who will perform after Edinburgh indie-folk band Chasing Owls and Irish/Cornish duo Winter Mountain.

The cost for camping is £8 per unit, per night for two adults and two children, with extra charges for more people and cars.

Hire of a regular tipi costs £450, a luxury one £585 and a super luxury tipi is £720. Tipi hire does not include the festival ticket, visit ramsbottomfestival.com.
