WHETHER you fancy a good giggle or a trip down memory lane, Bolton’s Albert Halls has a range of shows to entertain visitors this autumn.

Tickets are on sale now for the events — from Canadian stand-up comedian Tom Stade to a show featuring songs from Broadway favourites, including South Pacific, West Side Story, Cabaret, Chicago and Phantom Of The Opera.

A council spokesman said: “Things begin to ramp up again at The Albert Halls from September and we’ve got a variety of acts to keep everyone entertained.

“Cool Canadian Tom Stade and heavy metal stand-up Steve Hughes will provide the laughs in September and November, while superstars of soul, Ben E. King and Jimmy James, will take audiences back in time to hear classics such as Stand By Me and I’ll Go Where The Music Takes Me.

“There’s another musical treat in store with 70s and 80s band Sad Café, on tour again after 25 years, and songs from the shows courtesy of Broadway and Beyond.

“A good old fashioned knees-up awaits with The Best of British – Variety and Music Halls, featuring Britain’s Got Talent finalist Steve Hewlett with his superb ventriloquist act and veteran comedian, Freddie ‘Parrot Face’ Davies.

“Grumpy Old Women – Fifty Shades of Beige comes to us in November, starring Jenny Éclair, Kate Robbins and Susie Blake.

“We’re looking forward to a packed autumn and winter programme, which should take us nicely up to our annual pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk at the end of November.”

Also taking place in October is Opera Appetizers, presented by Young Opera Ventures.

Sung in English and in intimate venues, the show features scenes from some of the greatest operas, with highlights from The Magic Flute, The Merry Wives of Windsor and Cosi Fan Tutte.

And Barbara Dickson, known globally for hits including Caravans, Another Suitcase in Another Hall, Answer Me and her chart-topping duet with Elaine Paige, I Know Him So Well, will also entertain music fans in October.

As a multi-million selling recording artist with an equally impressive Olivier award-winning acting career, Barbara Dickson OBE has firmly established herself as one of the most enduring and popular entertainers in Britain today.
