TWO bands and a singer from Bolton are set to take over a popular music venue tonight.

The Jade Assembly, supported by Empire Signal and Jordan Allen, will be at Sound Control, New Wakefield Street, Manchester, for a night of new and original music.

The event is being presented by record label Maison Rouge, based at Redbridge Recording Studio, Bolton, and will showcase the talented acts to fans, newcomers and industry heads.

Four-piece band The Jade Assembly, who signed their record contract on the pitch at the Reebok Stadium in 2011, will be performing debut album Rock and Roll Nearly Killed Me in full.

Fronted by singer John Foster, the band already boasts a reputation for live performances, delivering powerful songs whilst maintaining commanding stage presence, having been described by XFM’s Clint Boon as ‘the best guitar band since Kasabian’.

Joining them on the night will be Bolton-based alternative indie band Empire Signal, whose first LP is poised for completion, produced by James Spencer, who has worked with the likes of Johnny Marr, New Order, The Charlatans, Liam Gallagher and The Cribs.

Completing the line-up is former Bolton School pupil Jordan Allen, aged 19, from Westhoughton.

Expect a unique lyrical take on youth in the 21st century’s second decade, as heartfelt words are matched with deft instrumentation, to create potent tracks some critics are already predicting will propel him to the forefront of the national scene in the coming months.

A spokesman for Maison Rouge said: “With two years of great music already archived, and plenty more releases lined up for the near future, one of Greater Manchester’s most successful independent imprints is delighted to present three of its most promising acts for one evening of exceptional live music.”
