THEY will soon be heading out on a magical journey helping Santa hand out presents on Christmas Eve.
But, for now, a herd of reindeer have been resting up and meeting smiling youngsters in Bolton.
The animals joined Father Christmas — antlers and all — for a festive bonanza at the Hive Centre in the former Animal World site in Moss Bank Park on Saturday afternoon.
Visitors also took the chance to plant their own Christmas tree, while others learned how to make mulled wine.
The event was organised by Lancashire Wildlife Trust in an effort to encourage children to learn more about nature.
