READING is becoming a favourite past-time for pupils of St Michael’s CE Primary School.
A modern, innovative library has been completed as part of the school’s ongoing major building project.
Head teacher, Mrs Alison Hart, said: “Pupils here are immersed in books. Throughout school there are daily opportunities for individual, group and whole class reading of stories and poetry while reading areas have been enlarged and creatively developed to inspire reading for pleasure.”
To mark the opening of the new facilities, youngsters took part in an “extreme read”.
Mrs Hart added: “This has included reading while playing outside, on the field and even when lining up for lunch.”
