Saved Edgworth bus service is launched

The Bolton News: MP Jake Berry MP Jake Berry

A NEW bus service has been launched in Edgworth this week.

The 16-seat bus service, TA01 and TA02, will connect the communities living in Edgworth, Chapeltown and Crowthorn with Bolton and Bury.

A campaign by MP Jake Berry, local councillors Colin and Jean Rigby and villagers to save the Edgworth-Bolton bus service resulted in a 700-name petition.

Mr Berry said: “I’m thrilled that bus company Travel Assist were able to step in and not only provide a better service to Bolton but also a brand new bus to Bury.

“Thank you to everyone who helped with the campaign – whether you signed the petition, filled in the survey, put up a poster or helped deliver leaflets, it was all worth it.”
