A GLIMPSE into what Bolton was like 20,000 years ago is being offered by archaeologist Ian Trumble.

He is giving a talk which will take people on a trip through Bolton’s prehistory, starting in the Palaeolithic, or Old Stone Age, and move through the Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze and Iron ages and will finish up as the Romans conquer Britain.

Using archaeological evidence and artefacts from the collections of Bolton Museum, Mr Trumble will describe how the people of Bolton lived, interacted and were buried in the area and how this changed over time.

There will also be the opportunity to view some of the actual objects up close which the chance to handle tools and weapons that are over 5,000 years old.

The talk will take place on Tuesday, February 18 at 7.15pm at The Friends Meeting House, Silverwell Street, Bolton.
