THE rate of staff calling in sick at the Royal Bolton Hospital is among the highest in the North West, according to new figures.
The Bolton NHS Foundation Trust will present a new report into the worsening staff sickness levels at a public meeting tomorrow.
The trust has an above average sickness absence for the year 2012 to 2013 with 4.77 per cent, compared to the North West average of 4.37 per cent — against a overall target of 3.75 per cent.
Only three trusts out of 22 in the region achieved the target figure. Stress and anxiety are highest cause of long and short term absence.
