TALENTED musicians and film-makers are being encouraged to enter Rock the House and Film the House competitions.

The competitions are sponsored by industry and supported by celebrity patrons offering the chance for creative residents in Bolton to have their work judged by the leading lights of industry.

MP for Bolton West, Julie Hilling said: “It’s such a great competition. Those entering have a chance to win prizes ranging from festival slots, studio time, equipment and the opportunity to have your work premiered in London’s West End to those leading judges and celebrities.”

The categories for the Rock the House are under-19 solo artist, under-19 band, solo artist, band, music venue and pPeople’s choice award. In Film the House the categories are drama/ thriller/action, comedy, music video and documentary for people aged 18 and over. For film-makers under the age of 18, any genre of film is accepted.

Ms Hilling added: “It is a wonderful opportunity for artists to get their talent ‘spotted’. Each MP has the opportunity to put one constituent through in each category and I hope this year I can put someone through in each and every category.”
