SHARPLES High School is among the top five per cent in the country for the progress children make through school.
Teachers say this indicates that the school makes among the greatest impact on pupil achievement.
Headteacher Rachel Quesnel said: “We are really pleased with this outstanding measure of success for our pupils.
“Teachers have high expectations of all pupils and will do whatever it takes to ensure they make maximum progress and reach their potential.
“We work hard to raise the aspirations of pupils and this is reflected in their exceptional achievement.”
