A SERVICE to celebrate the life of a late American folk singer will be held at Bank Street Unitarian Chapel, Bolton.
The church will be remembering Pete Seeger who died this week aged 94.
He was a member of a Unitarian church and strived for peace in the world.
A service on Sunday will feature American gospel and folk songs made famous by Seeger including If I Had a Hammer and We Shall Overcome.
Minister Stephen Lingwood said: “Pete Seeger belonged to a Unitarian church in New York, and his message of working for social justice and peace in the world is central to us in the Unitarian faith.
“We wanted a service that will celebrate both his message and his music.”
The service, starting at 10.45am, is suitable for adults and children.
