A DATE has been set for a hearing which will decide whether the sentence given to the killer of schoolboy Joe Geeling was too lenient.
Michael Hamer repeatedly stabbed 11-year-old Joe and then dumped his body in a park in Bury in March last year.
The 15-year-old was jailed for life for murder with a minimum term of 12 years. The hearing, set for January 17, follows a request to the Attorney General by prosecutors.
Tom and Gwen Geeling, Joe's parents, have said that Hamer's sentence was too short.
