TWO friends who have launched a campaign to help save the world's rainforests are rallying support.
Richard Greenwood and Simon Harrington, both from Bolton, are working to raise £50,000 to travel to Ecuador later this year to plant thousands of trees to help reverse the effects of deforestation.
But they are starting closer to home with a tree planting project next month in Colchester, Essex, a Woodland Trust reforestation site which needs work.
Mr Greenwood, of Bradshawgate, and Mr Harrington, who owns The Bar in Nelson Square, are hoping to recruit 50 volunteers to help plant 10,000 trees on Saturday, February 24, and Sunday, February 25.
