GREATER Manchester Police had the largest number of officers suspended in 2006 for alleged crimes, a survey shows.
Some 43 officers were suspended form the force, with more than 180 suspended or sacked for alleged crimes across the UK .
A poll of 46 forces across the UK showed allegations included attempted murder, sexual assault, drug dealing and burglary.
The Daily Mirror, which carried out the survey using the Freedom of Information Act, discovered 333 police officers were suspended and 61 dismissed.
Of those, 152 were suspended and 33 dismissed because of criminal allegations.
Three officers were suspended for allegedly making death threats and one on suspicion of attempted murder.
