A property developer and investment company has started a multi-million pound refurbishment programme at one of its flagship business parks.

Hamilton Heath Estates began the refurbishment at Hemfield Business Park in Wigan, which they bought two months ago, before Christmas.

When completed the site will be offered for lease the site either as a single unit or four sub-divided units ranging from 17,801square feet to 30,554 square feet.

Andrew Chaytow of Hamilton Heath Estates said: "Once this first phase is complete, we will concentrate on the development of eight new warehousing and workshop units on the estate.

Hamilton Heath Estates also reported a flurry of expansion by existing occupiers at its Warth Industrial Park in Bury which mean that the developer has now let more than 156,389 square feet of mixed-use accommodation at the fourteen-and-a-half acre estate in less than two years.

The new lettings include car accessories supplier Ace Supply trading as Streetwize and Must Have.

Tenants extending their remises at the park include Today Technology, Beechfield Brands and Microcare. The Bike Medic has also taken space on the site.

Mark Clynes, of Hamilton Heath Estates, which has its head office within the estate, said: "We have have succeeded in increasing tenant occupancy from 20 per cent to 90 per cent in the two years since we bought the site."
