A SOAP star turned cheesemaker treated shoppers to samples of his award-winning products.
Sean Wilson, who played Martin Platt in Coronation Street for 20 years, visited Asda in Moss Bank Way, Astley Bridge, yesterday for a meet and taste session.
His Saddleworth Cheese Company is committed to making handmade artisan cheese using only milk from the heart of the Trough of Bowland, Lancashire, to form various cheeses including a Lancashire Creamy, called How’s yer Father, and a specially formulated medium soft blue cheese, Smelly Ha'peth.
He said: “The aim is to stir with specially formulated cultures that connect to create a cheese that tastes like it used to taste.
"With traditional cutting, we are preserving the all-important body and character of the curd, which really does make all the difference when it comes down to true taste — real food.”
