IT takes all sorts to present a 12-hour, non-stop radio show, as this Bolton FM crew proved.

The station’s presenters, Ross Elliot and John Entwistle, are preparing for the marathon stint when they will host some of the town’s best sports heroes, past, present and future in a non-stop sportsfest broadcast on Friday as part of Sport Relief.

They will take to the air from 7am until 7pm and are asking all sports clubs and schools in Bolton to get involved.

Ross said: “As Sport Relief kicks off this weekend, it was a good excuse and opportunity for Boltonfm, as a community radio station, to boast about the great sporting clubs and personalities we have in and around Bolton.

“We did a similar broadcast two years ago, had a fantastic response and many guests from different sports came into the studio or contacted us during the day.”

This year the pair will be talking to some high profile guests, including boxer Amir Khan, professional golfer Kelly Tidy, local fitness writer Ken Heathcote, professional squash player Julian Tomlinson and young diver Oliver Crompton.

The guests will take part in quizzes, challenges, selecting tunes and impersonations.

And The Bolton News editorial sports team will be on hand during the day, giving information of sporting events in and around Bolton.

If any school or sports club wants a mention during the show, or if you know any outstanding sporting individuals who need a mention then e-mail details you wish to have read out on air to: admin@boltonfm.com and mark it for the attention of Ross and include your contact details.
