FILMING of the second series of BBC period drama The Village will continue until July.
The show’s stars, including Bolton’s Maxine Peake are filming in Derbyshire for six episodes to be broadcast later this year. The show charts the life and turbulent times of a northern village in the 20th century and this series starts in 1923 and looks at life after the Great War.
The Village is seen through the eyes of Bert Middleton, the young man who never leaves the village. Newcomer Tom Varey, aged 23, has been cast as the adult Bert, the son of John and Grace Middleton, played by John Simm and Maxine.
