HEALTH chiefs are “looking at options” to cope with demand for GP services during the Easter bank holiday.

Directors of Bolton Clinical Commiss-ioning Group (CCG) say they could roll out a similar pilot to the one tested at Christmas — which saw 31 GP practices open on Boxing Day.

Speaking at the board meeting, Dr Wirin Bhatiani, chairman of the CCG, said: “We are discussing possible plans for the Easter break and are still formulating one or two things for primary care.

“We are looking at some options.”

The Boxing Day scheme — which cost more than £36,000 — came under fire from some GPs for not offering value for money.
