A RETIRED Bolton referee is joining an eight strong team in a charity walk from Lands End to John O’Groats Mark Halsey will be taking part in the gruelling challenge in aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation.
The foundation was set up in the in the name of the former St Helens Rugby League player who lost his battle with cancer in November.
Mr Halsey will be joined by rugby legends including Paul Sculthorpe, Tommy Martyn and Lee Briers.
Mr Halsey, who is now a commentator on BT Sport, beat throat cancer in 2009. They will walk 24 hours a day from May 5 to 16.
