A 54-YEAR-OLD man accused of murdering his wife has appeared in court.

Mark Dyson, of Harrison Road, Adlington, appeared at Preston Crown Court via a video link from prison today.

He has been charged with the murder of his wife, Carole, who was found asphyxiated on Tuesday at the home they shared in Harrison Road.

The case was adjourned until July 31 for a plea and case management hearing, and a trial date is to be arranged for later this year.

There was no application for bail and Dyson was remanded in custody at the end of the hearing.
