A WALKING group has been recognised for its resounding success.
The WLCT — a leisure provider — ‘Walking for Health’ group, which meets weekly at Pennington Flash, won the Leading Walks category at the Ramblers annual meeting, in Liverpool.
The walk regularly attracts up to 170 people, and the group was presented with a trophy.
Volunteer Dave Hanbury said: “It is nice to get recognised. The group gets people on the move, and there is a great social element, as well.”
The group meets at the Flash’s car park at 9am every Monday for a two- hour walk, or at 11am for an hour-long walk.
