RAIDERS targeted two homes in Astley Bridge.
Burglars broke into a home in Sharples Avenue through a door that had not been locked and stole a handbag and a purse.
A patio window was then smashed at a house in Sharples Hall Mews. Criminals tried to get in using keys in the lock, but failed because there was an extra lock.
The incidents took place during the weekend. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
