RECYCLE for Greater Manchester is encouraging Bolton residents to home compost food and garden waste as part of International Compost Awareness Week, which runs until May 11.
Items that can be composted include egg shells, vegetable peelings, fruit scraps, coffee grounds and teabags, as well as sawdust and wood shavings.
Campaigns officer Phillippa Superville-Blackford said: “Composting food waste and garden waste at home is simple and cost effective and it can then be used on your garden.”
