BOLTON people are being urged to compost their food and garden rubbish in a drive to cut waste.
Recycle for Greater Manchester has issued the plea as part of International Compost Awareness Week, which runs from May 5 to May 11.
It is estimated that about 15 million tonnes of food is thrown away in the UK each year, with composting a viable alternative.
