A DJ has launched a series of house music nights in Bolton featuring names from some of the region’s most iconic clubs.

Keith Laverty is the founder of club night Jacked, held every four to six weeks at The Bleachworks, Dunscar Business Park, Blackburn Road.

On Sunday May 25, The Bleachworks will welcome Matthew Krysko, resident at The Warehouse Project in Manchester.

Over the past 12 years, Krysko has held three of the country’s most respected and revered residencies within the UK’s ‘underground’ music scene — The Redlight and Tribal Sessions at Sankeys, Tribal Gathering and now the club night juggernaut that is The Warehouse Project, where he is the original and longest-standing resident.

The Haçienda’s Graeme Park — one of the first DJs to champion the house sound in the UK — will take to the decks at The Bleachworks on Saturday, July 12.

Keith, who went to Canon Slade School and got his first set of turntables at the age of 13, will also DJ at the nights with fellow resident Noel Daniels.

He said: “We’re putting on quite big names really.

“We don’t feel like anyone else is doing this in Bolton.

“We’re hoping to get things happening again in Bolton but away from the town centre.

“I think the Bleachworks is a great venue.

“It’s a good size, about 220.

“The last one we did, the average age was people in their 30s.

“I think with the Krysko one, we are expecting a bit of a younger crowd, maybe in their 20s, the guys who go to the Warehouse Project.

“But it’s all ages, 20s to 60s.”

The Jacked Bank Holiday Special, featuring Krysko, Keef and Noel is on Sunday, May 25, from 9pm until late.

Tickets cost £8 for Bleachworks members, £10 in advance from Skiddle.com or £12 on the door.
