FUN seekers young and old enjoyed a day of family entertainment in aid of Bolton Hospice.

Businessman Chris Jones, who runs Bradshaw Interiors in Bradshaw Road, organised the fun day at the Crofters Arms, with proceeds going to the hospice as his father stayed there before he passedaway.

More than 400 guests were at the event and were treated to a magic act, a Thai boxing demonstration and a hog roast.

Younger visitors had a go on a bouncy castle, met real-life cartoon characters and tried out fairground rides.

Organisers said they were expecting to raise a four or five-figure sum for the hospice.

Shelly Goodman, who helped organise the event, said: “It has been brilliant to see so many smiling faces.

“The entertainment has been fantastic and everyone has been enjoying themselves and being generous to the hospice.

“Chris has been working 14 hours a day to organise the weekend in memory of his father and it has been a really good event, in great weather. ”

Nice to see a positive story in amongst all the despair, death and d1ckheads that form most of the topics on here.
Good effort, Mr Jones !
