BOLTON campaigners will march 11.4 miles to Manchester on Sunday, August 17 to mark the 195th anniversary of the Peterloo Massacre.
Members of the Bolton Socialist Club are inviting people to join the march, which will commemorate the day armed cavalry charged at 60,000 people in St Peter’s Field as they gathered to listen to pro-democracy speakers.
It will start at 8am at the Socialist Club in Wood Street, travelling through Kearsley, Swinton and Salford to reach St Peter’s Square four and a half hours later. Contact Chris Chilton on 0875 646 6070 or email chris_chilton@hotmail.com
