A DRINK-driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months by Bolton magistrates.
The court heard how Nathan Webster, aged 23, of Booth Road, Little Lever, was stopped by police on Bury Road, Bolton, at 1.20am on July 25.
Katie Beatie, prosecuting, said officers had spotted his Ford Focus being driven at speed and weaving from side to side.
He was breathalysed, found to be over the drink-drive limit and pleaded guilty to the offence.
Anthony Shimmin, defending, said Webster’s assertion that he only drunk one can of beer was correct.
He said: “But he had been drinking the night before and, of course, the after effects of that had put it higher.
“He apologises to the court. He’s made a mistake.”
In addition to the driving ban Webster was fined £250 and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £25 victim surcharge.
