A CHURCH in Heaton is taking part in the national Heritage Open Days next week.
For the first time, Christ Church will open from Thursday, September 11, to Sunday, September 14.
The open days take place on the Thursday, from 2pm to 4pm, Friday, from 6pm to 8pm, and Sunday, 10am to 4pm. At 6.30pm on the Sunday there will be sounds of worship with the choir and organist.
Meanwhile, a youth choir from Germany which visited the church has raised more than £100 for it.
The Wernigerode Youth Choir performed a programme of gospel and spiritual music sung in Latin, English and German in June.
