POPPIES are being distributed to shops, schools and churches in Horwich ahead of Remembrance Day.
The Royal British Legion is hoping to sell as many as possible ahead of the commemoration events for the start of World War One. There will be a special collection by air, army and sea cadets at the Bolton Wanderers versus Wigan match at the Macron stadium on Friday, November 7.
Collectors are also being wanted to sell poppies in Horwich and Bolton.

THE Mayor of Horwich bought the first poppy in the town. Cllr Richard Silvester purchased the poppy from members of cadet groups and visited a World War One display at Horwich Resource Centre.
