AN expert on World War One history will give a talk about conscientious objectors tonight in Bolton town centre.
Cyril Pearce from the University of Leeds will speak about his research into the men who refused to fight during the war, and reveal how responses to the war varied significantly between different towns and cities.
The historian and author wrote a detailed account of war resisters in his home town of Huddersfield in 2001, and is now working on another title.
His talk, ‘New Thoughts on British War Resisters 1914-1918’ will take place on Tuesday, November 18 at 7.30pm at the Quaker Meeting House in Silverwell Street.
All are welcome.
