PLANS to build a full-scale reconstruction of the tomb of a great Egyptian Pharaoh in Bolton have been given the green light by Bolton Council.
The burial chamber of Thutmose III will form the centrepiece of ambitious plans to redesign Bolton Museum’s Egyptology gallery and turn it into a major attraction.
Bolton's Egyptology collection is among the best in the UK and is currently on a global tour.
More than one million people flocked to see the exhibition, before it continued to mainland China — and the "Quest for Immortality — The Hidden Treasure of Ancient Egypt" tour has now reached Florida.
I cannot wait for the tour to come home. When it does, it will be the pride of Bolton.
