AN independent panel will review evidence surrounding issues with Hormone Pregnancy tests early next year, following a campaign by a Bolton MP.
Yasmin Qureshi, who represents Bolton South East has lobbied alongside Little Lever mum, Nichola Williams, for an inquiry to be held into the drug Primodos which was prescribed to pregnant women in the sixties and seventies.
It is claimed that Primodos caused deformities in babies.
Health minister George Freeman has agreed to set up an independent panel and disclose all documents on the issue between 1953 and 1978.
After questioning from Ms Qureshi last week, Mr Freeman said the panel was currently being selected and that the process of reviewing the evidence should start in the early months of 2015.
