ROADWORKS are set to begin on a major Bolton road this weekend — which could cause disruption for motorists.

A project of work is set to begin on Saturday in Chapeltown Road, close to the border with Turton Road in the Bromley Cross area.

The work is being carried out by contractors for BT Openreach who are excavating a blocked duct in the area.

Temporary traffic lights will be set up in Chapeltown Road and will remain there until Wednesday December 3 when the project is expected to be completed.

The roadworks could cause delays to motorists trying to access Bromley Cross Railway Station as well as people driving to Turton High School.
