THE festive season will be celebrated with an evening of music and merriment.

The Mayor of Bolton's Christmas Charity Concert takes place on December 4 where audiences can enjoy Christmas carol, music and songs — and join in too.

Performing at the Victoria Hall will be ensembles from Bolton Music Service with performances from Bolton Youth Brass Band, Bolton Youth Orchestra, Bolton Youth Choir, Bolton Music Singers and many more.

Mayor of Bolton Cllr Martin Donaghy said: "We are promised an enjoyable evening of music and merriment by some of the borough's most talented musicians.

"This concert is a celebration of the work of Bolton Music Service, we are all very proud to have such a wonderful service on our doorstep here in Bolton.

"We will enjoy a concert of music, carols and songs with a little audience participation and in the true spirit of the season, the money raised from this concert will directly benefit a local charity.

"Trust Music is raising money to support children who cannot afford their own music lessons, musical instrument or music ensemble."

Tickets and information is available from Bolton Music Service on 01204 333533 of The Albert Halls.
